Cynthia Hathaway MSN, RN, PMHNP-BC
Psychiatric Mental Health Nurse Practitioner
Cynthia is a board-certified Psychiatric Mental Health Nurse Practitioner, certified through the American Nurses Credentialing Center (ANCC), with 29 years of nursing experience spanning military and civilian healthcare. Her background includes multiple deployments as an Air Force flight nurse and extensive experience as an intensive care nurse, caring for individuals who have endured significant physical and emotional trauma.
Her practice is rooted in holistic mental healthcare—thoughtful diagnosis and medication management integrated with attention to social, spiritual, and physical well-being. Cynthia believes healing happens most effectively when patients are seen as whole persons, not just symptoms to be treated.
She approaches each patient as she would a trusted friend or family member: with compassion, attentive listening, and respect. Treatment plans are collaborative, incorporating each individual’s values, cultural background, and personal goals. Guided by her Christian faith and the professional ethics of nursing, she promotes spiritual wellness (as desired by the patient), along with healthy lifestyle practices that support long-term mental health.
What distinguishes Cynthia’s care is the time she takes to build authentic, trusting relationships. She strives to be a steady presence for patients as they navigate life’s challenges.
She defines success by the positive changes she witnesses—stronger relationships, improved emotional stability, renewed purpose, and greater enjoyment of life. For her, nursing is not simply a profession, but a calling and a privilege.
Cynthia’s mission is grounded in continual growth and service: to strengthen her clinical skills, pursue lifelong learning, and contribute meaningfully to the well-being of her patients and the nursing profession.
Inspired by the words of Maya Angelou, she seeks each day to “be a rainbow in someone’s cloud.”
